A Stubborn Babysitter

Nancy loved her job as babysitter. When Parkinson family hired her to babysit their four years old son, Dylan, she liked it and became close to the family. Rachel, Dylan’s mother, gave her full access to many rooms of her big house. Nancy liked to watch Dylan open his cute eyes in the morning with sweet sounds and put him in his crib for a nap after a funny day. In addition, the pay was high for a twenty-two years old student.

A woe for someone can mean happiness for another one. Nancy did not wish woes or bad things to anyone. However, the divorce of Rachel, one year ago, offered her the opportunity to look after Dylan and make extra bucks. She knew almost nothing about Rachel except that she was friends with her parents and paid her employees well. Nancy did not want to miss this opportunity and she thanked the judge, in her heart, for allowing Rachel to keep the house and half the fortune of her ex-husband.

Many young people in her town were jobless and keeping a job was difficult since the pay was usually low. Nancy did not want to lose her good job and did her best to avoid anything that could jeopardize it. She did not want to upset her boss and did anything to please her including working extra time and doing some chores.

However, one night, after putting Dylan on his bed, Nancy decided to visit some parts of the mansion she did not know well. While doing so, she noticed a wing of the house with interesting decorations. It was her first time to see it and curiosity got the best of her as she decided to visit the wing.

She remembered that during her first visit with Rachel, she took her away from that wing. In addition, the list of her chores did not include this wing. It looked like her boss kept this wing out of her reach. She always noticed three doors in the wing and she wondered what was behind them. That time, she saw an opportunity to satisfy her curiosity.

In order not to wake up Dylan, she tiptoe and entered the hallway. She reached the first door and opened it slowly without noises. She just let out a gasp on seeing what was inside the mysterious room.

The light was not enough for her to see everything. She just identified a bed in the middle of the room. There was a little disappointment on her face. She thought that she would see something strange or scary like in movies but it was just a normal room for guests. She did not understand why her boss kept her away from these rooms since the first one suggested nothing interesting.

She closed the door slowly and decided to visit the second room. However, when she arrived in front of the second door, she did not stop and continued walking to the third door. She stopped in the middle of the halfway before reaching the third room and thought about the second one.
